Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the current model of physical education in schools from the teachers' point of view based on the criteria of the National Association of Sport and Physical Education. This research is descriptive-survey based on the applied purpose and the method of collecting the findings. The research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in nature. The statistical population consisted of all teachers of sport in Gilan province (840 persons). Morgan table was used to determine the sample size. 270 sport teachers were selected as the sample of the study through cluster sampling. For data collection, a standard questionnaire was used to assess the performance of the teachers of the National Association for Exercise and Sports. To assess the validity of the questionnaire, the experts (n=10) were used. Instrument reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha (0.966) and structural validity. The data were analyzed using SPSS and PLS software at P≤0.05 level. The results showed that professionalism had the most role with 95 percent, then education with 94 percent, Students with learning variables explained 86 percent, management and organization with 86 percent and finally learning atmosphere with 85 percent of the variability was evaluating the performance of physical education teachers. All aspects of high-factor research were effective in evaluating teachers' performance; these dimensions can be used as a self-assessment tool to assess the performance of physical education teachers and sports in the country, depending on the values and policies governing school sports.
