Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors affecting the design of adaptive organizational structures for university physical education departments in IRAN. In terms of the purpose of this research, it is part of applied research and in terms of variables, it is a mixed research that was conducted in two stages. First, by the data theory of the foundation and Glaser approach, the factors affecting the design of compatible organizational structures for the physical education departments of Iranian universities were identified, and in the next stage, the factors were prioritized by the fuzzy Dematel method. The statistical population of this study included experts in the field of organizational management in sports, current and former managers and deputies of physical education departments of public universities and professors of sports management who have studies in the field of research. The sampling method was purposive. A total of 16 interviews were conducted as open and in-depth questions until the data reached theoretical saturation. In the fuzzy dimple section, it was determined based on the opinion of 8 experts. Analyzes were performed in Excel software environment. Findings showed that out of 11 main categories identified by Glaser approach, six categories of orienting elements, intellectual structure, flexibility and comprehensiveness of structure, financial and capital resources, good governance and physical infrastructure as influential factors and five components Student organizations, human resources, cultural factors, technology factors and communication networks were identified as influential factors.
