Abstract

The present study sought the future study of investment in the sports with an emphasis on the risk. The research used a mixed framework due to the use of quantitative and qualitative methods. The research orientation was also applied because of the benefits of the research for the sports. The study also selected an exploratory approach from a goal perspective and used a survey type to collect data. To collect data, the researcher referred to sports and investment experts, and the sampling was judgmental. Data were analyzed using Binominal test, Copras and root definition. At first, the drivers were extracted through literature review and interviews with experts. At this stage, 15 risks were identified. In the next step, these drivers were screened with Binominal test and 6 risks were excluded. The remaining risks were then assessed using Copras and measures of effectiveness, significance and certainty. Both financing and economic risks had the highest priority and were selected to develop scenarios. Based on selected drivers, four scenarios of rippling sea, happiness island, darkroom and improper business environment were developed. Happiness Island scenario was considered as optimistic scenario and darkroom scenario was considered as pessimistic scenario. In the field of economic risks, accurate estimation of current and future costs and revenues of the project and in the field of financing risks, diversification of financing tools, forecasting financing methods before the start of the project and monitoring the correct allocation of resources and proper management of priorities were effective in managing investment risks.
