Abstract

The aim of this study was to design a safety management model in Iranian student sports events. The method of this research was qualitative and based on the data approach of the foundation using the Glaser approach. Participants in the study included 17 experts familiar with the field of sports event safety, school sports, and sports management professionals who were purposefully selected for unstructured interviews until saturation was reached, and the data were simultaneously collected using a set of open codings. Axial and selective were analyzed. Acceptability, transferability and verification were used for validity and reliability. Also, to measure the reliability of the method, the reliability of the interview retest method, which was equal to 0.85. The results showed that specialized management of safety process as a central category and competence and expertise of safety culture, professional obligations and responsibilities, directives and instructions, management and planning, proper management of human resource utilization, attitude of student sports development, medical and emergency services , Physical and mental fitness status, sports equipment, health and cleanliness management, standardization of sports facilities and facilities were identified as influential categories in the safety management model of student sports events. Based on this model, it is suggested that the various categories extracted from this research be considered with emphasis on prevention of accidents, promotion of safety culture, planning and safety management in student sports events.
