The purpose of this study was to designing a model for the development of Iranian student sports. This research was carried out using a mixed research method. The statistical population of this study in both qualitative and quantitative sections consisted of academic experts in the field of student sports with at least 5 years of management experience who were selected using snowball sampling method to reach the theoretical saturation. The research tool in the qualitative part was an in-depth semi-structured interview through which the main stimuli and indicators of the development of student sports were identified. The research tool in the quantitative section was a researcher-made questionnaire based on the indicators obtained in the qualitative section, the validity of which was confirmed by experts in the field of sports management. The results showed that the model has a good structure for presenting a student sport development strategy. Based on the model presented in the research, sustainable development was started through strategic planning and interaction and integration of activities in Ministry of Education with Ministry of Sport and Youth, and it continued to improve the quality of service will through the entry of volunteers and the private sector, and by increasing the knowledge and attitude of the student community towards sports, in addition to public education and sports culture in the student community, finally, through holding provincial, regional and national Olympiads, with the support of families and sports boards, can achieved sustainable development while identifying talent.
