Presenting a Physical Activity-Friendly University Model in Iraq

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to develop a model of a physically active university in Iraq. This applied research was descriptive-analytical in terms of data collection method and qualitative in terms of implementation method. In order to collect data, 16 articles and interviews with 17 elites were used, and then the Strauss and Corbin method was used to analyze the obtained data. Based on the findings, 40 concepts, 5 subcategories, and 2 main categories (intrapersonal factors and experiential factors) were identified for causal conditions, 52 concepts, 6 subcategories, and 3 main categories (attitudes and beliefs, constraints, and facilitators) for intervening factors, 47 concepts, 6 subcategories, and 3 main categories (attractions, organizational factors, and effective actions) for contextual factors, 75 concepts, 7 subcategories, and 3 main categories (reinforcing strategies, motivators, and organizational actions) for strategies, and 52 concepts, 6 subcategories, and 3 main categories (physiological consequences, social excellence, and personal growth and flourishing) for achievements, and a total of 266 concepts, 30 subcategories, and 14 main categories related to the physical activity-friendly university model were identified. It can be stated that by identifying causal, intervening, and contextual factors and designing and developing strategic and effective strategies for creating a physically active university, valuable outcomes and achievements such as social excellence and individual growth and flourishing can be achieved.
